- Study Materials: Documents (PDFs, Word, PowerPoint), images, audio recordings, YouTube links, and web URLs you provide to generate study sets including summarized notes, flashcards, quizzes, short answer questions, practice tests, and key terms.
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our platform, including study sessions, quiz attempts, and feature usage.
- Payment Information: Billing details processed securely through Stripe for subscription payments.
- Device Information: Browser type, IP address, and device identifiers for analytics and security purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve our AI-powered study tools
- Generate personalized study sets including summarized notes, flashcards, multiple choice quizzes, short answer questions, practice tests, and key terms glossaries
- Extract text from uploaded documents, transcribe audio recordings, and fetch content from YouTube videos and web links
- Power the AI chat feature to answer your study questions about your materials
- Process your subscription payments
- Track your learning progress within study sets
- Send important service updates and notifications
- Analyze usage patterns to improve our platform
- Ensure the security and integrity of our services
4. Public Study Sets
You may choose to make your study sets publicly visible. When you make a study set public:
- Content Visibility: Your notes, flashcards, and quiz questions will be visible to anyone on the internet, including users who are not logged in.
- Search Engine Indexing: Public study sets may be indexed by search engines (Google, Bing, etc.) to help other students discover educational content.
- Anonymous Attribution: Your username or personal information will NOT be displayed on public study sets. Content is shown anonymously.
- View Tracking: We track the number of views on public study sets for analytics purposes. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual viewers.
- Control: You can make any public study set private again at any time. Note that search engines may retain cached versions temporarily.
We do not sell or share your public content with third parties for commercial purposes. Public content is displayed solely to help other students learn and to improve the educational resources available on our platform.
5. AI Processing
Your uploaded study materials are processed using OpenAI's API to generate flashcards, notes, quizzes, and AI chat responses. We send only the necessary content to generate your study materials and provide helpful answers in the chat. OpenAI processes this data according to their privacy policy and does not use your data to train their models when accessed through their API.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Convex, a real-time database platform with built-in security features. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest. Authentication is handled securely through Clerk.
7. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Clerk: Authentication and user management
- Stripe: Payment processing
- OpenAI: AI content generation and chat
- Convex: Database and backend services
- Vercel: Hosting and deployment
- PostHog: Analytics (anonymized usage data)
8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your uploaded materials and study sets at any time. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

10. Children's Privacy
Cramberry is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
